The Jesus Gospel Ministry (JGM) is a group of indigenous Kenyan Christians, who have been working in our local area of rural Kenya for the past ten years.
We have provided an outreach to our community, including humanitarian aid and the message of salvation to a very needy population. In the last years we have focused our efforts on orphan families, including family members affected by deaths caused by AIDS.
Through the years the Jesus Gospel Ministry has developed a total of four sites in our region of rural Kenya, near Kisii. We provide church services as well as a focus on outreach to the marketplace and to needy single parents, orphan children, and struggling families in our area. JGM does periodic ministry to prisons and hospitals as well. (See "Current Ministries" page to learn more of what we're doing.)

Brief History
Our ministry began after seeing other churches around us have little to no form of outreach. We made it our goal to be outreach centered from a strong desire and leading from God to help the obviously needy people around us.
Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them. . .
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.
Surely I am with you, to the very end of the age.
–Jesus, Matthew 28:16 (NIV)
After years of giving all we could to meet the spiritual and physical needs of our community, we saw that the population that we were reaching out to most was incomplete families due to AIDS, mental illness, drugs, inability to work, etc. In the last two years, we have focused our outreach to that specific population, while continuing to be a woshiping church.

Our focus on outreach to this population is captured in James 1:27,
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this:
to look after orphans and widows in their distress and
to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." (NIV)

God's guidance has lead us to develop an orphans school among us where we feed and teach orphan children, but resource supply has currently lead us to simply support assisted students in other schools.
With God's help we hope to fulfill dreams of building an orphanage, providing an occupational training school for disenfranchised women and children, and to form other practical assistance along with
discipleship and love to our neighbors.
Future Vision
A group in America is currently planning outreach ministry trips to Kenya to assess and assist what the JGM is alreading doing. The American outreach hopes to provide AIDS outreach materials, financial resources the JGM ministry needs (land, farm capital, outreach materials, travel expenses, etc.). In the future, we are praying for God to provide resources for the following:
- Supporting individual orphans
- Supporting AIDS awareness (through a traveling youth ministry team)
- Developing self-sustaining system of operation (agriculture, orphan technical skills training, possible medical dispensary)
- The purchase of land for farming and facility.
